We are exploring the mosaic art of Ukrainian roads, specifically mosaic bus stops. We film the entire research process and edit it into short documentary films, which we then upload on YouTube.
This project is dedicated to a unique artistic phenomenon actively developed in the 60's enabling the artists to resist ideological censorship. It presents bus stops designed by Ukrainian artists of the last century. Each bus stop is a unique artwork.
Most of them are now ruined and destroyed. At that time, informal art recognized as freethinking was persecuted, so the artists has chosen to work toward the informal art and realize their artworks at bus stops in remote villages, where control by the Communist Party was weakened. Professional authors with well-known names have invested in stone paintings and mosaic panels with their thoughts, ideas and visions of the beauty of Ukrainian nature, sacred Ukrainian symbols, stories of the past.

The idea to transfer mosaic drawings arose out of admiration for the very phenomenon of mosaic bus stops and a desire to attract attention and preserve the art.
